Hôpital de La Tour adopts artificial intelligence to benefit patients undergoing radiotherapy

Hôpital de La Tour (Geneva), the largest private hospital in French-speaking Switzerland, has chosen MVision AI's automatic segmentation service to increase the quality of contours used to optimize radiotherapy treatment plans. This strategic innovation also saves a significant amount of time for treatment teams.

" We chose MVision AI because of the amazing quality of the delineation and its robustness against irregular anatomies. The integration of the product into our existing workflow and the software-as-a-service concept were major advantages."
- Gregory Bolard, medical physicist in charge

Hôpital de La Tour has established three oncology departments (ENT, urology and gynecology) with excellent reputations, including diagnostics, surgery, medical oncology and radiation oncology. These treatments generally involve complex anatomies to be irradiated. The latest MVision AI segmentation models, including lymph nodes (head and neck, pelvis and breast), provide significant help to radiation oncologists in defining target volumes.

" We save considerable time in delineating target volumes by having lymph nodes already defined. High-quality generated contours also bring confidence in evaluating treatment plans, by decreasing inter-observer variability in delineating organs at risk," said Dr. Champion, radiation oncologist. "

A pioneer in MRI-only simulation, the radiation oncology department will also benefit from automatic segmentation on this type of imaging, thanks to the new mDixon prediction model.

" Following the acquisition of high-quality MRI series, here we fill an important gap with the ability to automatically segment organs. We are proud to be able to provide our patients with comprehensive, high-quality delineation ".
- Mr Bolard

Commenting on this innovation, Mr Heider, COO of Hôpital de la Tour, adds

"This acquisition is in line with our institution's philosophy of constantly innovating to provide the best quality of care for all our patients".

MVision AI is part of the intelliSmart range distributed by intellimed, which aims to improve the quality of patient care with the help of artificial intelligence.
